Let Freedom Ring

Bondage and slavery are the seedbed of misery and death.  God’s will is that His children live lives free of oppression, control, and forced servitude.  His strong desire is that we live lives full of life, liberty, purpose, and adventure! This world and its ruler will always try and take these from you.  Evil is a liar, a thief, a tyrant and a killer.  We are at war with evil and her offspring in every generation.  We must be forever vigilant. If we want God’s will for us, we must do our part in liberating ourselves and others from this spirit of tyranny and injustice.

Jesus and the Holy Week of Passover

Weekly Service - Sermon Study Guide

Download: Jesus and the Holy Week of Passover

The Biblical Holy Days are deeply intriguing and fulfilling. They are the story of human redemption brought about by Yeshua, the Savior of the world, King of kings, and Lord of lords! In this teaching we will continue our series on the spring Holy Week called Passover. The week begins with the Passover sacrifice on the afternoon of the 14th of Nissan and transitions into the Passover meal eaten on the eve of the 15th of Nissan (the first day of Unleavened Bread). This marks the beginning of the seven-day feast of Unleavened Bread (15th-21st of Nissan). This Holy week marks and commemorates the death of the Lamb of God, His burial, and His resurrection on the third day. It also initiates the counting of the Omer which inextricably ties Passover with Shavuot - 50 days later. There more glory and grace in this week that any of us can ever imagine. These are our days of deliverance, freedom, peace and joy. All of these made possible by Yeshua the Lamb of God – Our Passover Sacrifice!

Passover and The Lamb of God

Weekly Service - Sermon Study Guide

Download: Passover and The Lamb of God

When John the Baptist saw Yeshua, he exclaimed, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29)! This metaphor and imagery of a lamb belonging to God who takes away sin comes from the Torah. Just as the lamb in Exodus provided a covering for the Israelites, Yeshua provides an eternal covering for each person. More than a covering, Yeshua completely removes and takes away the sin of those who believe in Him and who call upon His Name. Join us as we explore the ancient background and antecedent theology of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Vegan, Vegetarian, or Kosher Omnivore? Who is right? Which is the right diet? Today, like in the days of the believers in Rome, dietary issues remain important. What we see in Romans is personal views about diets become a man-made dogma to defend, protect, and use to judge others and this can be true in the believing community today. But what does God say about food and what is it that He already legislated? What He authorized is what we should rally around and be united in. Beyond that, and as it relates to personal views about diet, should we not extend grace and liberty to each other? Today we will look at the wisdom of the Apostle Paul and how he solved this painful problem in Rome and how we can solve similar problems in 2020.

Peter’s Vision in Acts 10 seems to be the “go to” passage for believers who want to eat detestable things like pig, shrimp, rat, snake, and bat. Along with Mark 7 (addressed in part two of this series) this passage is commonly misunderstood due to the vast majority of Catholic and Protestant scholars neglecting the Jewish background and Hebraic antecedent theological context of the Jewish Jesus, the Jewish Apostle Mark, and the Jewish Apostle Peter. When we read the Jewish Apostle Peter in his 1st century, Jewish theological and cultural context, we discover that his vision actually has to do with God's ability to cleanse kosher food and God's ability to cleanse the Gentiles not about cleansing forbidden unclean foods. In this teaching we will look at the words of Peter within their historical, cultural, and antecedent Jewish theological framework. This original context will be surprising and refreshing!

The Apostle Mark tells us that Jesus “declared all things clean” in regards to diet. Both Catholics and the vast majority of Protestant denominations interpret that to mean that all things are good for consumption including pig, rat, snake, and bat! In light of all of the devastating health issues associated with consuming things that God forbade, could we have misinterpreted this passage and its meaning for our food choices? Even bigger than that, if Jesus is doing away with these basic laws how can He be the Messiah? This widespread misinterpretation of the words of Jesus has wreaked havoc on our health and well being as well as made it very difficult for a Jew to consider Jesus as the Messiah. In this teaching we will look at the words of Jesus within their historical, cultural, and antecedent Jewish theological framework. The original context will be surprising and refreshing!
