When John the Baptist saw Yeshua, he exclaimed, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29)! This metaphor and imagery of a lamb belonging to God who takes away sin comes from the Torah. Just as the lamb in Exodus provided a covering for the Israelites, Yeshua provides an eternal covering for each person. More than a covering, Yeshua completely removes and takes away the sin of those who believe in Him and who call upon His Name.
