Moses, Pentecost, and The Church
May 16, 2026 • Pastor Mark McLellan
There are two significant Pentecost events recorded in Scripture. The first occurred in the time of Moses, fifty days after the Israelites departed from Egypt. The second took place fifty days after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Many Christians identify Pentecost as the defining moment in the origin of the Church—an understanding with which we agree. However, determining which Pentecost marks its true establishment is both thought-provoking and instructive, inviting us to realign our perspective with God’s enduring plan to call and gather a people to Himself. A people who will reveal and reflect who He is to our broken world. Join us as we explore the meaning and ramifications of first Pentecost.
